Alexandra Risen is a writer who has lived her life as a gradual migration from the northwestern prairies to the hilly southeast, all the while enjoying nature and increasingly warmer Plant Hardiness Zones. She loves her garden as much as she loves technology, and she loves Toronto and New York City as much as she loves hiking in the New Hampshire backcountry. Her previous careers in the design and business world give her a unique perspective. She holds a Certificate in Creative Writing, Bachelor of Commerce Degree, an MBA, and a Diploma in Urban Planning. A Board Member of the Toronto Botanical Gardens, Alexandra lives with her husband, son and rescued dog in Ontario. She’s published essays in newspapers and on-line magazines.
