Carolyn O’Doherty grew up dreaming of being a writer, but settled for more practical career choices, eventually spending twenty years developing affordable housing. The dream never died, however, and after completing an MFA through the Stonecoast program at the University of Southern Maine, she’s finally making it a reality. Her first book is based on a childhood fantasy of being able to freeze time. At the time all she considered was the fun stuff: always having the perfect snappy come-back, the right answer on the test, untraceable revenge. It was only when she turned the idea into a novel that she recognized the darker side of this potential blessing. Carolyn lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and two teenage sons.
