Danna Staaf is a freelance writer of science and fiction for adults and children. She contributes to northern California’s NPR station (KQED), blogs at science20.com and has created several science outreach programmes for schools, including the popular biology programme Squids4Kids. She holds a BA in Creative Studies, and a PhD in Squid Babies from Stanford University. She now lives in California with her husband, daughter, two cats, and a large number of edible plants.
