thom vernon

thom vernon is a writer, performer, and educator. With a long career as an actor (The Fugitive, Seinfeld, General Hospital, etc.), thom has a B.A. (Philosophy, summa cum laude) and terminal graduate degrees in fiction, screenwriting, and Gender Studies. Mentored by Hubert Selby, Jr. (Last Exit to Brooklyn, Requiem for a Dream, etc.), his first novel, The Drifts (Coach House, 2010) was called “magnificent” and “a significant contribution to Can Lit” (Globe & Mail). thom also publishes critical research and writing on creative writing and the meanings applied to bodies — and whatever else provokes him. He writes, acts, and teaches in Toronto.
