Alyssa is a lover of stories in any format and a strong proponent of an active imagination. She has been telling stories in her mind for decades and began writing them down a few years ago. Alyssa is excited for the opportunity to share her stories and have a reason to let her imagination run wild (not that she has ever needed one). She loves summer in the Okanagan, good food, and her family and friends.

Alyssa has a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and is currently completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing – both of which have done very little to help her career as a writer. Her favourite authors are J.R.R. Tolkien and Jane Austen. She would gladly settle down in the Shire for a life of writing, with the occasional adventure to Rivendell.

Alyssa enjoys writing daring adventures with strong female protagonists. Although many of her literary inspirations are fantasy-based, she prefers her stories to be (somewhat) grounded in reality. She loves exciting plot twists, unexpected friendships, and a little bit of complicated romance sprinkled in – all of which can be found in her debut novel: The Evangelina. Alyssa hopes that her readers will get lost in the adventures and connect personally to her characters. Her dream is to see her books on the shelves of bookstores … her secret dream (though not as secret anymore) is that one day she will see her stories turned into TV series.
