Anton Yakovlev's poems have appeared in The New Yorker, The New Criterion, The Hopkins Review, Measure, The Stockholm Review of Literature, and elsewhere. His work has been profiled in The Huffington Post, The Arts Fuse, and At the Inkwell, among others.

He is the author of four poetry chapbooks: Chronos Dines Alone (SurVision Books, 2018), winner of the 2018 James Tate Poetry Prize; Ordinary Impalers (Kelsay Books, 2017); The Ghost of Grant Wood (Finishing Line Press, 2015); and Neptune Court (The Operating System, 2015). The Last Poet of the Village: Selected Poems by Sergei Yesenin Translated by Anton Yakovlev came out in 2019 from Sensitive Skin Books.

Born in Moscow, Russia, he is a graduate of Harvard University and has also written and directed several short films. He works in academic publishing in New York City. He is a co-host of the Carmine Street Metrics series in Manhattan and the Rutherford Red Wheelbarrow series in Rutherford, New Jersey, and a former education director at Bowery Poetry Club, where he also curates the Triangle Quarterly reading series.
