Casey Aimer

Casey Aimer is a science fiction poet and editor living in DC with his wife. He holds master’s degrees in both poetry and publishing and works for Science publishing high-impact research articles on neuromorphic computing, socioeconomics, and materials chemistry.

A current SFWA and SFPA member, he is active on both sides of the publishing industry as both a writer and editor, working to promote speculative poetry. He is an inaugural member of the SFWA Poetry Committee and helped create the Nebula Award for Poetry. In 2022, he founded Radon Journal, an award-winning science fiction publisher.

Casey began his poetry career inside punk dive bars reciting to anyone who would listen. In a previous life, he was a touring spoken word poet and university Teacher of Record. Most nights, you can find him at a local punk show, moshing as a form of therapy and community building—or hooking his brain up to computers, hoping the singularity would hurry up and arrive.

His poetry style focuses on emotional free verse coupled with narrative sci-fi conceits. Personal, hard-hitting, and full of universal wonder, Casey aims to bring the joy of speculative poetry to the public consciousness.
