Matthew A. Pagan
Matthew A. Pagan earned a bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University in Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Studio Art. His artwork has been displayed throughout the Nashville metropolitan area.
During his time as a Seigenthaler Scholar at The First Amendment Center, Matthew shared research on the roots of the American civil rights movement. Later, Matthew wrote technical documentation at The Tor Project, a non-profit supporting freedom of speech through the circumvention of internet censorship.
Matthew's interest in translating world literature inspired him to build “Yijing in Translation,” an open-source desktop application comparing different translations of the Chinese Classic of Changes. Github selected this program for inclusion into their “Arctic Code Vault.” After dropping out of a computer science graduate program, Matthew now works as a software engineer, specializing in data automation. He is the sole inventor on US Patent Number 11894999 B1, “Resolving Information Discrepancies Between Network Entities.”
Matthew lives in Colorado with his wife and four children. His upcoming book translates into English the poetry of Walter Benjamin. Matthew shares original poetry and short fiction on Substack.
