Sherri Klassen
Sherri Klassen enjoys life in Toronto, Ontario. Her passions include history (she completed a doctorate in European history many years ago), good food and drinks, and humour. She combined these passions in her first book, Menno-Nightcaps: Cocktails Inspired by That Odd Ethno-Religious Group You Keep Mistaking for the Amish, Quakers or Mormons (Touchwood 2021). She intends her next book (combining a history of Western Christianity and cheese recipes – co-authored with Ruth Klahsen) to be the first of three books that merge humour, history and consumables in the form of novelty cookbooks.
Klassen also loves to write fiction. She began writing stories as a child but took a detour when she discovered history and, later, when she had a family to support. She worked for over fifteen years as a research administrator at the University of Toronto before returning to writing stories. She is currently writing a novel loosely based on stories from the lives of her second-generation immigrant Mennonite family.
