Vani Varshney was born in India, raised in Calgary, and is now based in Vancouver. She worked at Indigo for a time, and fell in love with children’s books (but could not work exclusively in the children’s section due to her severely lacking gift-wrapping abilities). When Vani became an elementary school teacher, she fell even more in love with children’s literature. She then became a mother, and decided she loved picture books so much that she wanted to write them. As much as she can, Vani spends her time snuggling with her dog, dancing with her daughter, and watching Wheel of Fortune with her husband.
